An overview of the philosophical origins of and major approaches to the field of psychology, with an emphasis on psychology as a human science. Examines the historical emergence of, and conceptual and methodological similarities and differences between, traditions within the field, including phenomenology, existentialism, humanistic psychology, psychoanalysis and depth psychology, critical theory and feminism.
