Politics of Russia and Eastern Europe

Catalog description

This course provides an overview of major political developments in selected Eastern European countries since 1945, with an emphasis on the difficulties of making the transition to post-communist governments as well as the state of democracy in these countries today. This course will focus on the countries of Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia.
