Catalog description
A study of mass and digital media, its nature, role, and impact on U.S. and international politics. Internet-based means of reporting the news, mobilizing constituencies, building social movements, and influencing politics will be examined, along with more traditional media. Problems of political communication such as journalistic bias, unequal access to information, and state control of media will be a major focus.
