Catalog description

Natural phenomena where gravity plays the dominant role: stellar evolution, stability of galaxies, black holes, gravitational lensing, gravitational waves and the theory of the big bang. Includes a basic primer on gravitation in the weak and strong regimes. Three hours of lecture. Prerequisites: C in PHYS 302 Optics, B in PHYS 374 Modern Physics and C in MATH 215 Calculus 3.
