Clinical Seminar III

Catalog description
This course is completed concurrently with the first three rotations during the clinical year. Students evaluate clinical problems in the simulation lab when they are back on campus for transition days and engage in active learning in the cooperative teaching format through analysis of clinical case scenarios in order to develop decision-making skills. During each class period, students are given portions of clinical situations which they will be responsible for analyzing in a methodical manner. The online component of this course is completed in conjunction with the clinical training of each student during the first three rotations. Anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology topics are included in each clinical case scenario. Women's health topics are highlighted including anatomy, human sexuality, complicated and uncomplicated birth, gynecologic cancer screenings and routine gynecologic and obstetrical care.
