Catalog description

This course is a continuation of Patient Care Skills I. The purpose of this course is to provide the student with an introduction to the essential elements of medication therapy management (drug-therapy problem identification, care planning, and documentation). Building on foundational communication skills, students will be introduced to the principles of motivational interviewing and counseling skills in variety of challenging settings. Communication skills necessary for successful interactions with other healthcare professionals will be emphasized. PHPR 342W is a prerequisite for PHPR 444 and PHPR 448.
