PHL 499
Philosophy Capstone
Duquesne University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Enrollment in this zero-credit course fulfills the Bridges capstone requirement for Philosophy majors and requires co-registration in a 400-level Philosophy seminar during the same semester. Philosophy capstone students pursue one of four guided research modules to write for the co-registered seminar. Details about these modules (primary textual research, concept-application research, historical/contextual research, or secondary literature-guided research) are available on the Philosophy Department website. If departmental permission has been granted to enroll in a 500-level seminar, it may be also used as the co-registration (Concentrated Readings courses, those below the 400 level, and those coded for another department may not be used as the co-registration).
