Catalog description
This course explores the methodologies of Semiotics and their subversive potential for philosophizing today. Texts include Roland Barthes' Elements of Semiology, Umberto Eco's Semiotics and the Philosophy of Language, and Julia Kristeva's Desire in Language. It is strongly recommended that any students enrolling in this class have completed at least two Philosophy courses before it begins.
