Augustine and Dionysius

Catalog description

We will read Augustine's early dialogues and most of the Dionysian corpus to see how these two seminal figures for medieval Neoplatonism offered contrasting approaches to the self and its relation to the world. It is strongly recommended that any students enrolling in this class have completed at least two Philosophy courses before it begins.
