This seminar engages the philosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, the mid-twentieth-century French philosopher whose ideas are essential to phenomenological and existential thought and resonated throughout the tradition of continental philosophy. Merleau-Ponty?s philosophy treats philosophy of embodies experience, philosophy of mind, philosophical psychology, philosophy of language, philosophy of disability, and more. This course will concentrate on one of his major texts or treat excerpts from several. It is strongly recommended that any students enrolling in this class have completed at least two Philosophy courses before it begins.
