Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical and Health Professions I

Catalog description

This course is designed to provide PB-PMHPP students with a broad understanding of the culture, expectations, and responsibilities associated with careers in medicine, as well as an understanding of the education, roles and responsibilities of other health and medical professionals. Students receive instruction in HIPAA, OSHA, handwashing, gloving, and maintaining a sterile and safe work environment. Students also are introduced to evidence-based medicine/practice, inter-professional education, and collaborative practice, cultural competency, and health care literacy in medicine.
