Social and Behavioral Change in Community Health Education

Catalog description
Students will learn how to impact social factors contributing to health and illness. They will build a foundation for how to select the methods and strategies to implement effective health education programs based on a foundation of health education theories to change risky behaviors and health inequities. The students will explore various health behavior programs and interventions while gaining a comprehensive but practical overview of health education strategies for community health settings incorporating cultural factors that have an impact on public health in multiple contexts, including individual, community, national and global perspectives.
