Existential Humanistic Psychotherapy
Duquesne University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
Existentialism is the study of the processes by which individuals resolve central anxieties that dominate how they understand themselves and their reality. As a discipline of psychotherapy, existentialism helps clients resolve these anxieties in ways that generate meaning and value from lived experiences. This course will examine how such a framework fits within advanced music therapy practice, with a focus on receptive and recreative music methods.
