A continuation of Musicianship V, Musicianship VI focuses on music in the United States and Europe from the Romantic era to the present day, studying how cultural contexts shape musical practices. Students analyze music from a variety of genres and traditions in its aesthetic, historical, political, and social dimensions, developing skills in critical thinking, argumentative writing, and musicological research.
