Catalog description

Using a combination of movable and fixed do techniques, students apply more advanced techniques to audiate more complex musical surfaces. Students learn to navigate post-tonal musical structures, asymmetric time signatures (such as 7/8, 11/8, etc.), more complex harmony (including jazz harmony), improvisation and techniques of contemporary hip-hop music. Pre-requisite MUSC 211
