Catalog description

This course continues the Musicianship sequence begun in the first year of study. The written component of the course opens with a brief review of diatonic harmony and then follows with a study of chromatic harmony, including secondary dominants, tonicizations, modulations, modal mixture and other chromatic techniques. Form, rhythm, and additional compositional parameters will also be considered through an in-depth look at music literature demonstrating various concepts. Pre-requisite MUSC 102 or MUSC 103
