MUEN 147
Collaborative Ensemble
Duquesne University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
In the Collaborative Ensemble, students will join together to dream, design, and perform a concert in collaboration with a featured guest community artist. All aspects of the concert, including themes, repertory and style, visuals, documentation, and marketing will be shaped, designed, and executed by students. Guiding this work will be your professor and the guest artist, who will join our class to share their expertise and guidance. Class activities may involve writing proposals, assigned readings, class presentations and discussion, cultural competency modules, composing, arranging, practicing, rehearsing, and performing. The course workload will be divided up into different roles that students can contribute to, both individually and collaboratively. Our final concert, performed with the guest artist, will reflect our unique journey for the semester.
