Teaching Lab

Catalog description

Teaching Lab (TL) provides a venue for MUED teaching activities. During Tuesdays of the fall semester, the TL combines sophomores with juniors from Advanced Band Methods. During Tuesdays of the spring semester, the TL links to String/Orchestra Methods; Thursdays are dedicated to Band Methods. A primary goal of TL is adapting to the practicum needs of methods classes. As such, members perform as a band, chorus, or orchestra at various times throughout the year. Essential skills in secondary instruments, and the application of PK?12 pedagogy, are reinforced as students finish their preparations for student teaching. Two semesters required.
