Primary General Music Methods

Catalog description

Primary General Music Methods prepares future music educators to provide children, preschool through grade 3, with developmentally appropriate musical experiences. The Orff-Schulwerk approach and the Kodály method, along with other approaches and methodologies, will be included in the course through demonstration, participation, lesson planning, and practice-teaching. Additional topics include song repertoire, instructional materials, music and children?s literature, and soprano recorder. Field experiences will take place in primary music settings throughout the semester.
