Catalog description

This course is focused on introducing students to the fundamental principles of community engagement and community- engaged research (CEnR). It will provide an overview of the practical application of community engagement principles and CEnR, emphasizing the importance of cultivating and sustaining community collaborations. Throughout the course, we will explore key concepts such as intersectionality, transformational relationships, justice and charity, and implicit bias. Additionally, it will cover and incorporate models of critical reflection specific to community engagement, as well as an introduction to CEnR methods that demonstrate methodological rigor.
