Spanish for Therapy Professionals

Catalog description
This course is designed to provide the basic Spanish language skills necessary to communicate effectively and compassionately with Spanish-speaking patients and their families in a healthcare setting. Students will engage in interactive activities throughout the course, including role-playing exercises and conversations with native Spanish speakers, allowing them to practice their newly acquired language skills in a safe and supportive environment. In addition, students will have access to online resources, including grammar exercises, pronunciation guides, and medical and therapeutical terminology glossaries. Students will also learn about specific therapeutic techniques and interventions used in their respective healthcare fields and how to apply them in a culturally appropriate way in a Spanish-speaking context.
