Catalog description
Students will examine fictional and non-fictional narratives of immigration and emigration in the Hispanic world, including migrations to the U.S., Europe, and within Hispanic countries. The course emphasizes contemporary migratory processes while situating them in historical context, exploring their cultural, linguistic, social, political, and economic impacts. Spanish majors and minors are encouraged to complete coursework in Spanish, while students from other disciplines will work in English
