MLSP 284 is the continuation of MLSP 282. This course aims to a. Enhance students' proficiency in Spanish and cultural knowledge, specifically tailored to medical and healthcare contexts in Costa Rica, b. Bridge the gap between language skills and clinical practice, enabling students to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients, students, families and community members, and 3. Immerse students in an authentic Spanish-speaking environment for 3 weeks while they attend workshops, talks, and visits to medical related sites, such as hospitals, clinics, after-school programs, and medical laboratories. This course aims to improve students? linguistic fluency and cultural competence, both of which are essential for delivering quality healthcare in diverse settings.
