Spring Breakaway: Spanish for Business Professionals I

Spanish for Business Professionals I will introduce you to a variety of topics related to the business world involving Hispanic populations in Spain, Latin America, and the United States. It will give you an opportunity to expand and practice their cross-cultural communication skills to successfully interact with Spanish speakers in business settings. This course will develop geographic literacy and cultural understanding of the Spanish-speaking world, as these are central to conduct business successfully. In addition, the course will also provide you with the vocabulary and the discourse used when interacting personally and through email, phone, and/or other virtual platforms in professional situations. During Spring Break, we will travel to Costa Rica. We will visit various businesses, and corporations, view their facilities and hear about their enterprises. We will attend lectures on international business and other aspects of business in Costa Rica and Central and South America. We will find out about the importance of sustainability in many of their business models in Costa Rica. We will also visit a volcano and National Park, walk through the rainforest, snorkel from a Catamaran and spend time on the beach.
