Catalog description

Designated as an Advanced Community Engaged Learning (ACEL) course, this experience emphasizes efficient and effective management of financial, social, and environmental resources. Building on frameworks and methodologies introduced in MGMT 712 Human Centered Design and MGMT 722 Sustainability Consulting Experience, learners work in teams to frame complex problems, audit client operations, evaluate alternatives, and manage projects from conception through completion. Clients engage with learner teams at key milestones: at project launch to define challenges and desired outcomes, at mid-project to review progress and refine direction, and at project completion when teams present integrated recommendations to client leadership. Deliverables include a formal client presentation and an analytical report recommending actionable strategic solutions that drive productivity gains, cost savings, revenue growth, and long-term competitive advantage. Evaluation incorporates feedback from clients, faculty, and peers, and concludes with a structured project debrief focused on managing ambiguity and the realities of professional consulting practice.
