The Professional Medical Practice Course (PMP) is a longitudinal course that introduces osteopathic medical students to various aspects of professional practice, beyond what is taught in the traditional medical school curriculum. The Professional Medical Practice VII course introduces key healthcare policies and laws relevant to physicians. Students will also attend sessions on cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and global health systems to support the delivery of equitable care and collaboration with patients from diverse backgrounds. As part of the social determinants of health (SDOH) capstone project, students will participate in community-based service projects alongside community partners and faculty advisors.
