Catalog description
The Professional Medical Practice Course (PMP) is a longitudinal course that introduces osteopathic medical students to various aspects of professional practice, beyond what is taught in the traditional medical school curriculum. Professional Medical Practice V introduces students to the structure, financing, and delivery of healthcare in the United States. Designed to build foundational knowledge, this course prepares students to navigate the complex healthcare environment as future physicians. Furthermore, students are introduced to a community needs assessment as the first step in the design of their SDOH Capstone Project, where they work alongside community partners to better the health of patients in the region.
