Catalog description

Foundations of Physiology I is the first course in a two-course series designed to provide a strong foundational understanding of the functions of the human body at the level of tissues, organs, and organ system in order to provide a basis for further exploration of disease processes and understanding of pathology and clinical concepts. The topics covered include general cell physiology, nerve, muscle and an introduction to systems-based physiology including the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, with emphasis on the interconnectedness and unity of the human body and its capacity for self-regulation.
