The Professional Medical Practice Course (PMP) is a longitudinal course that introduces osteopathic medical students to various aspects of professional practice, beyond what is taught in the traditional medical school curriculum. Professional Medical Practice (PMP) III focuses primarily on aspects of healthcare ethics including clinical ethical cases. Upon completion of the course, students will better understand patient autonomy including competency, informed consent, truth-telling, and confidentiality as well as general principles of justice related to medical ethics.
