Catalog description

Multicultural survey of the history of mathematics from the development of number systems to the development of calculus. Contributions of ancient Greek and western mathematics are emphasized, but those of Egyptian, Babylonian, Islamic, Hindu, and Chinese cultures are also discussed. Prerequisite: grade of ""C"" or better in MATH 310 or MATH 311.
