Course Requirement: exam Fulfills Current Concentration Elective: Business Law- Energy and Environmental Law Track, General Practice- Basic Track, General Practice- Real Property Track, Government and Public Interest- Energy and Environment Track This course covers the life cycle of natural gas and oil production from cradle (obtaining a lease) to grave (end use at the burner tip/facility/vehicle, etc.), focusing on the mechanics of obtaining the interest, the geology/engineering of drilling and producing the interest, the marketing/processing/transportation of the interest, and the ultimate end use. Students will learn about oil and gas leases, how to interpret and negotiate one, how to convey mineral interests, the legal/environmental/regulatory aspects of oil and gas production, the midstream aspects of gas production (gathering/transportation pipelines, processing facilities, sales points on interstate pipelines, etc.), and ultimately for downstream aspects that are generally regulated
