Elective Course Pass/Fail Enrollment Limit: 12 Course Requirement: project Satisfies Experiential Learning requirement This skills course provides students with a practical, hands-on exposure to the pleading and discovery phases of the civil litigation process, with an emphasis on doing and discussion, rather than passive lecture. Students will develop the analytical tools to be able to conduct these activities in a thoughtful, strategic manner, having the big picture in mind when making the small picture decisions. Students will also become more skilled in the various techniques- how to draft and respond to pleadings, how to plan and conduct discovery more effectively working from the end points backwards, how to draft and respond to written discovery, and how to prepare for and conduct depositions.
