1 section
Catalog description
This is a seminar course, in which we will examine the legal and political issues raised by large digital technology companies. Case studies will include Facebook?s role in the 2016 election, the product liability lawsuits against Instagram, and the antitrust cases against Google. We will also consider the political influence of ?big tech? moguls and the relative lack of regulation of their companies. Some of these same companies are now leading the development of artificial intelligence, and we will look closely at AI, and ask what lessons from our recent history might help us deal with AI as lawyers and citizens.
