Elective Course This is it. American democracy is being threatened both at home and from abroad. In this course, we discuss legal ways to protect democracy and (hopefully) create a safer America. We begin with the laws of war, before moving on to separation of powers law and even a little war gaming. After establishing a greater understanding of the law and geopolitical history, we'll examine more recent security events of the 21st century, from 9/11 and the surrounding 20-year war on terror, to the January 6 Capitol Riot and the war in Ukraine.
