Elective Course Satisfies Experiential Learning requirement Family law litigation is multifaceted including oral argument, trial preparation, and the trial itself. However, a large portion of family law litigation is the drafting aspects of family law from pre-nuptial agreements (hoping to prevent litigation) to pre-trial statements and ultimately settlement agreements. Utilizing the Pennsylvania Case Law, Statutes, and Rules to develop the drafting skills necessary to be effective in representing family law clients. Students will work to take the often vague information provided by (simulated) clients and turn that information into specific well-crafted legal documents. The class will focus on developing the skills needed to critically approach legal issues, anticipate potential problems, problem solve, develop the theory of the case, through precise drafting.
