Elective Course Satisfies Experiential Learning requirement Course requirement: final project Fulfills Civil Litigation Concentration elective This course examines the dynamics, benefits, constraints, and skills related to third party intervention in the resolution of legal disputes. The course explores mediation, arbitration, international arbitration, family law mediation, cross-cultural perspectives in dispute resolution, as well as apology and forgiveness. This course also explores the collaborative process of resolving conflict, the legislative, ethical, and practical constraints on its use, as well as the skills needed to serve in an ADR capacity. There is an emphasis on learning through simulation exercises which are drawn from the labor, family and commercial areas.
