The United States has a complex regime of state and federal laws to regulate this commodity. This course will explore the legal, economic, and societal issues that influence energy regulators. Students will examine the historical evolution of the regulatory framework that governs the energy sector, and they will answer fundamental questions about modern energy regulation and policy issues. At the completion of this course, students will have gained a solid, workable understanding of energy regulation at the state and federal levels to benefit them as future energy law practitioners.
