Enrollment limit: 15 Course Requirement: paper Satisfies Upper Level Writing requirement This course is meant to delve deeply into a handful of ?hot topics? in the area of companion animal law and public policy. Examples of current controversial topics include but are not limited to: remedies available in tort law for loss or suffering of companion animals; animal sheltering and the no-kill movement; breed-specific laws; regulation of exotic companion animals; pet trusts and custody disputes; international laws for companion animals; and the presence of service animals in schools.
