Required for third year day students who fell in the bottom 1/3 of first year class and all evening and part-time day students Course Requirement: exam and writing assignments This course is designed to provide students with the substantive knowledge, skills training, and critical legal reasoning required to succeed as newly admitted attorneys, and on the bar examination. The course covers core legal concepts in the following subject areas: in the fall semester course (criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence and constitutional law); and in the spring semester course (contracts, property, torts, civil procedure and remedies). Students are afforded ample opportunity to practice applying the substantive knowledge of the "Black Letter Law" to real-world fact scenarios, presented in the same formats used on the bar examination: multiple choice questions, essays and performance tests. The course employs a "flipped classroom" approach by posting lectures online (which students view outside the classroom) and using class time for analysis and application of the law to new fact scenarios.
