This hands-on course introduces the foundations of User Experience Design (UXD) and focuses on designing useful, usable, and engaging digital experiences. You will learn core UX principles and user-centered design methods, including how to understand users, analyze tasks, identify usability problems, and develop effective design solutions. The course also introduces practical ways AI can support UX work, such as brainstorming ideas, organizing research insights, refining content, and evaluating design alternatives. Through individual activities and a semester-long team project, you will redesign an existing digital experience into a more usable and user-friendly solution. Along the way, you will build skills in research, prototyping, iterative design, and communicating design decisions. The course also considers accessibility, ethical use of AI, and the role of AI in shaping modern user experiences.
