Catalog description

This course introduces students to the relatively new field of comparative theology. While Christian theologians have been in dialogue with non-Christian philosophical and religious traditions from the very beginning, the contemporary theological method of comparative theology provides a fresh approach to interreligious dialogue. By reading through various works of comparative theology, students will also become familiar with core doctrines of Hinduism and Buddhism and be able to evaluate approaches to the theology of religions, in addition to gaining skill in the art of comparative theology.
