Foundations of Artificial Intellegence
Duquesne University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
There is a great deal of confident commentary about artificial intelligence but a striking shortage of people who know what they're talking about. This course seeks to address the second problem. Open to all backgrounds with no technical prerequisites, it covers AI's history, mechanics, uses, trajectory, failures, and the social questions which accompany it. Through discussions, presentations, and projects, this course seeks to quietly elevate the student into the small group that actually understands AI and can employ it productively.
