Catalog description

This course seeks to develop analytic skills as a foundation for making assessments and writing intelligence products in either the public or private sectors. Focused on the ?Analysis and Production? phase of the Intelligence Cycle, students will examine the profession of intelligence analysis, learn to evaluate sources of information, make sense of complex problems, generate hypotheses, and make predictions. Central to the class is the study of the psychology of intelligence analysis so students may understand and recognize the cause of analytic pitfalls such as bias and logical fallacy.
