"This course seeks to optimize the transition of military personnel or veterans from their existing professional lives to the environment of academic life generally, and Duquesne University life, specifically. Students will be briefed on several dozen topic areas, comprehensively covering university structures and procedures, student life issues, as well as personal, physical, emotional, and financial health. The class will pay especial attention to the differences in the two work environments, and how differing expectations of personal responsibility, time discipline, study and learning strategies, and professional development may be managed.
