Health Sciences Capstone II
Duquesne University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The capstone serves as a culminating experience in a student?s health sciences academic journey. This course is the second part of a two-semester course that will provide students with an opportunity to synthesize knowledge, skills, and experiences from across the academic disciplines encountered during their health sciences and liberal arts experience and infer new knowledge. Through guided self-discovery students will reflect on their development as learners and the connection between the health sciences and liberal arts. As informed, equipped, inspired and engaged learners, students will make meaningful connections between course content, activities, and assignments to explicitly demonstrate the link between classroom and outside classroom experiences. Having conceptualized and identified time appropriate action steps in the first part of this capstone, students will adapt and apply skills, knowledge, theories and methodologies in new situations to address complex problems identified in the capstone project plan. At the conclusion of the capstone students will demonstrate their learning by delivering a tangible product to document their experience.
