Health Sciences Capstone I
Duquesne University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The capstone serves as a culminating experience in a student?s health sciences academic journey. This course is the first part of a two-semester course that will provide students with an opportunity to synthesize knowledge, skills, and experiences from across the academic disciplines encountered during their health sciences and liberal arts experience and infer new knowledge. Through guided self-discovery students will reflect on their development as learners and the connection between the health sciences and liberal arts. As informed, equipped, inspired and engaged learners, students will make meaningful connections between course content, activities, and assignments to explicitly demonstrate the link between classroom and outside classroom experiences. As part of this course, students will conceptualize the capstone experience and identify time appropriate action steps leading to project completion.
