Catalog description
This course explores major issues in health promotion and disease prevention. Students will investigate major causes of premature mortality and morbidity, including behavioral and environmental contributors. Factors that influence personal health decisions, preventive interventions directed at individuals (clinical settings) and populations (community settings) will be analyzed. Strategies for risk reduction and development and implementation of interventions in differing economic and political climates will be discussed.
