Catalog description

This course is designed to prepare special education majors for the use of assessment and instruction to support the needs of students with learning disabilities and other cognitive related learning problems. Students will examine the academic interventions and assessment practices that have been successful, with particular emphasis on the IEP process and implementing evidence-based practices in the general education environment. Inclusive education, culturally responsive instruction, co-teaching, and appropriate accommodations and modifications with a focus on literacy instruction will be explored.
