Catalog description

This course introduces common quantitative chemometric routines for evaluating multivariate data and applying these methods to solve practical chemical and spectroscopic problems from actual laboratory results. The course consists of lectures and computer labs, designed to teach students how to use chemometrics software for effective quantitative analysis of multivariate data. While the focus is on spectroscopic data to produce predictions of analytes, examples from various fields will be included. This course is the second part of a two-course series on chemometrics. The schedule is structured to complete lectures in the first ten weeks of the semester, leaving the last four weeks for students to work on their projects.
