Catalog description

This course will focus on anesthesia care for patients across the healthcare continuum, ranging from neonatal, pediatric, obstetric, and adult surgical populations through all acuity levels. The development of anesthetic plans for patients across the lifespan and the implications of common comorbidities will be discussed. Perioperative indications, complications, and contraindications of ultrasound-guided regional and neuraxial anesthesia for patients across the healthcare continuum will be presented. Application of ultrasound techniques for identifying sononatomy in performing ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and neuraxial blocks, along with considerations of administration of local anesthetic, analgesic, and adjuvant mediations will be explored.
